Ridonculous Race To Name The Place: Dubai

Dubai

Get your boarding passes ready, Fresh fans, because it’s time for another installment of ‘The Ridonculous Race To Name The Place!’ Each week we’re gearing up for the upcoming series by releasing a background scene from the show and challenging all of you to figure out where in the world the racers are headed! Then we reveal the answer her of re:fresh along with some fun facts about the destination. This week we’re headed for the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates: Dubai!

In Dubai only the very best and finest will do! The perfect example has to be Burj Khalifa (Khalifa Tower) the tallest man-made structure in the world! How tall are we talking? Try 829.8 meters or 2,722 feet if you like! Construction began in 2004 and the building opened officially in 2010 and shattered just about every record you can think of for a skyscraper: building with the most floors, highest observation deck, highest nightclub, highest restaurant and more!

Next to that you might think that the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab might seem like small potatoes, at ‘just’ 321 meters tall. Considering it’s frequently billed as ‘the only seven star hotel in the world’, though, it’s obviously got plenty to brag about, too! The interior is decorated with 1,790 square meters of 24-carat gold leaf and it stands on an artificial island that took three years to reclaim from the sea!

There’s plenty going on at ground level, too! Dubai attracts the sort of crowd with some pretty wild rides and the local police need to be able to keep up. That’s why in addition to the usual vehicles you’ll also see their white and green paint job on high-performance vehicles like a Lamborghini Aventador, a Bugatti Veyron and a limited edition Aston Martin One-77, among others!

Stay tuned to re:fresh for more Ridonculous Race info as we get closer to the premiere!

Stay fresh,
